WIP. I always spend too long on the background colors, since they’re so important to setting lighting and color. Sort of looks like an acid trip tonight.
I decided that Equestria needed a pony so garishly happy and colorful that even the world of My Little Pony would think it was a bit much. Her alternate name is Eye Burn.
Who ordered a side of agonizing retinal pain with their brunch?
Paying bills, catching up on dailies.
I keep a TARDIS notebook where I describe interesting people I see. this is the first time I’ve drawn one of them. I like to let them sit, then draw from the words instead of my memory.
“Central Park, 01.13.13:
Standing in line at a waffle vendor, young adult. She has black leggings and sneaker style wedges (Teal, velvet, black) Gold shimmering skirt under grey jacket, large tan square bag. Her hair is honey blonde in small ringlets, almost crimped. Enormous volume, almost a foot below her shoulders. She wears white fluffy earmuffs with the metal band wrapping horizontally over her head, pinning her hair down a bit. Young, pale face. “
Clearly the best way to get a fun pallet is to go nuts with the color adjustment. from boring to mildly interesting!
Allie asked about Penny, but I don’t have any really old pictures on hand. She’s been around since early 2009, making her about four now.
She actually came to me in almost the same state she is now! I knew she was a fashion student, very forward, loud, and fun. One thing that has changed (or rather, been confirmed) is that Penny is into girls. I didn’t think about it for a long time but it came along naturally.
Wyn and Eli.
Don’t worry, Eli’s not nearly as uncomfortable as he looks. Sometimes Wyn is inadvertently really forward, think she caught Eli offguard. Wyn is always full of surprises, but that’s something Eli loves deeply about him.
Broken queue is broken.
I love these guys. I really do. I’m trying so hard to get enough energy to show you more of them.

I’m coherent enough to know I need to draw ponies instead of thinking. Name her whatever you like, her talent is nature based. I think the gradient body coat looks nice.

Cue romantic lighting..?

Happy accident, don’t think I’ll keep it but those are some damn fine colors.
Miron is a happy camper.
Then I tried to draw Anthem but failed miserably because I couldn’t find refs.

Rikki! Just messing with markers.
Wyn chewing a cigarette. A strange habit she develops a while after certain life changing events. He rarely knows he’s doing it.
Quick paint over a fast gesture.
Simple Alex color studies. Trying to get use to water color pencils, but I find them too constricting and saturated compared to water soluble crayon. I liked these, though.
Queued. Hello from work/the past.
